Objectives:
This course will enable students to study a particular aspect of information technology in some depth, and gain experience and training in research techniques and principles. Students will also develop skills in the written and oral communication of academic information. Outcomes from this program include an ability to apply research methods in the pursuit of knowledge; enhanced knowledge of a particular information technology area; enhanced skills in the ability to communicate information in an acceptable academic written and oral style; and an introduction into research practices and culture enabling students to continue onto higher level degree studies.
Entry Requirements:
Successful completion of a recognised bachelors degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related discipline or field with a grade point average of credit or better. Course Description:
Course Structure
Completion of this course requires eight units of study, comprising of a research project and two coursework units of study. The topic of the research project is decided in consultation with the Honours Coordinator.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 80 credit points as detailed below. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless indicated.
