Objectives:
The Certificate II in Hairdressing will equip you with foundation skills and knowledge for a career in the hairdressing industry. The course will also enhance your applications for a hairdressing apprenticeship by providing you with basic training in competencies included at the apprenticeship level. Certificate II in Hairdressing graduates can look forward to rewarding careers in hairdressing by accessing a pathway to become qualified hairdressers.
Entry Requirements:
Certificate II in Hairdressing applicants will be expected to have language, literacy, numeracy and communication skills to undertake the course.

Perform Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage
Develop Hairdressing Industry Knowledge
Dry Hair to Shape
Communicate in the Workplace

Apply Safe Working Practices
Apply Single, Two and Three Strand Brading Techniques
Assist Colleagues Providing Multiple Salon Services as a Team Member
Apply temporary hair colour and remove residual colour products
Duration
The Certificate II in Hairdressing is a full-time 10 week course. Students can expect 17 hours over 2.5 days of class attendance each week and will be required to complete 64 hours of practical placement for workplace assessment. Student intakes are generally in February, May and August.
Selection Criteria
Certificate II in Hairdressing applicants who meet the entry requirements will be admitted to study the course in date order of receipt of applications.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be given for skills and knowledge gained through previous study or other relevant experience.
