  • Entry requirements
    The Certificate II in Horticulture (Retail Nursery) is only offered as part of a traineeship. If you wish to undertake this course you must be employed in the retail nursery sector as a trainee. Other Entry Requirements Basic literacy and numeracy. Participants must be physically fit and prepared to work in an outdoor environment.

    Employment Opportunities     

    Successful participants are eligible for employment in the retail nursery sector as general hands or as a retail nursery apprentice.

    The Certificate II in Horticulture (Retail Nursery) may be accepted as the equivalent of the first year of training required for an apprenticeship, thereby reducing the training component of a retail nursery apprenticeship by 12 months.

    Further Study Options    

    On successful completion of this certificate you may choose to progress to the Certificate III in Horticulture (General), or the Certificate III in Horticulture (Retail Nursery) if you are currently employed as a retail nursery apprentice.
