Objectives:
Get your foot in the door of the sign writing industry and pursue a career as a Sign Writer. This entry level course includes training in constructing basic and illuminated signs, colour matching and the use of equipment. What you will learn In this course you will learn how to: * Carry out interactive workplace communications * Carry out OH&S requirements * Plan and organise work * Read and interpret plans * Carry out measurements and calculations * Use hand and power tools * Use small plant and equipment * Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding * Use simple levelling devices * Handle construction materials and safely dispose of waste * Prepare for the construction process * Prepare surfaces * Layout signs * Use colour matching for sign writing * Develop basic illuminated signfaces * Produce basic computer aided manufactured signs ? vinyl * Produce a basic sign
Entry Requirements:
Preference will be given to applicants who have successfully completed year 10 or above. Mature age applicants are also encouraged to apply.
