Objectives:
With growing demand from tourists, it is becoming increasingly necessary for caravan parks to improve the skills of their staff and better respond to customer needs. This course will develop your management and supervisory skills and provide you with knowledge about creating the ideal holiday environment. You will learn about reception services, conflict resolution and communication. You are also able to select 14 units of your choice (called electives) so you can tailor the course around your own business activities. You are also able to enrol in modules from the course to enhance your skills, or can enrol in units to increase your opportunities to obtain employment.

Currently employed in the caravan industry (full time).

What you will learn

In this course you will learn how to:

    * Plan and organise daily work
    * Work with colleagues and customers
    * Follow health safety and security procedures
    * Communicate on the telephone
    * Clean premises and equipment
    * Handle hazardous materials safely
    * Receive and process reservations
    * Produce business documents
    * Provide accommodation reception services
    * Monitor work operations
    * Implement workplace health, safety and security procedures
    * Roster staff
    * Lead and manage people
    * Manage finances within a budget
    * Coach others in job skills
    * Deal with conflict situations
    * Respond to emergencies
    * Plan and implement environmentally responsible practices
    * Research tourism data
    * Plan and implement minimal impact operations
    * Plan and develop ecologically sustainable tourism operations
    * Set out landscape works
    * Mange projects
    * Source and package tourism products and services

    * Develop and implement a grounds maintenance program

As well as the 18 core subjects, you also pick another 14 units (electives). These may be selected from the above or from the Caravan Industry Training Package, or any relevant, endorsed Training Package.
