Objectives:
This qualification is for early childhood development workers who use organisational policies, procedures and individual children's profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes. Workers at this level are required to have an understanding of Indigenous culture and history and work with local communities in the provision of services. Depending on the settings, early childhood workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously. In some settings, the early childhood worker may also have limited supervisory responsibilities of volunteers. This qualification requires a total of 15 units; 11 compulsory core units plus 4 electives.
