It is unique in focusing on informed religious and ethic reflection in society today, drawing on the full resources of the Christian tradition. It is anticipated that this course will provide a pathway to further postgraduate study within Theology. Learning outcomes At the completion of this award will have acquired knowledge and skills in several areas of the contemporary study of religion and ethics.

    This articulated program provides teachers of religion and ethics with a sound and comprehensive understanding of current scholarship in these disciplines. It is unique in focussing on informed religious and ethical reflection on society today, drawing on the full resources of the Christian tradition.

    The Graduate Certificate provides detailed knowledge of the concepts underpinning scholarly study in these areas and the state of current scholarship. The Graduate Diploma builds on this program by adding the opportunity for specialisation within a systematic and coherent body of knowledge. At Masters level students acquire advanced skills in rigorous independent thinking and the critical analysis and evaluation of religious and ethical texts. They also develop sound research skills and complete a set project.

    The Graduate Certificate comprises three core topics:

        * Reason, Value and Religious Belief
        * Christian Ethics: Theory and Practice
        * Philosophy and Christian Thought

    The Graduate Certificate in Religion and Ethics is an 18-unit program offered by the Faculty of Education, Humanities, Law and Theology on a fee-paying basis. It is taught at the Adelaide College of Divinity at Brooklyn Park.

    PROGRAM OF STUDY [November, 2008]

    To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Religion and Ethics a student must complete 18 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic, according to the following program of study:
