  • Objectives
    The course is designed for graduates to:

    * develop skills, knowledge, understanding and competence in the area of environmental horticulture or production horticulture;
    * analyse problems, advise, guide, develop and organise horticultural programs and operations;
    * develop a holistic approach to horticulture through an understanding of the biological, socio-cultural and environmental factors within the system;
    * extend scholarly and critical attitudes in the discipline of horticulture.
  • Course description
    The Graduate Diploma in Horticulture emphasises the study of the horticultural system from a technological, sociological and management perspective.
    Structure

    The course consists of five core and a selection of elective subjects.

    This course, offered as a fee-paying program, is nested within the Master of Urban Horticulture. It is designed to fulfil the needs and demands of those who have qualifications in disciplines other than horticulture and who wish to emphasise the study of the horticultural system from a technological, sociological and management perspective. It is expected that most prospective students will be employed currently, or in the future, in the horticulture industry, or be involved in the development and provision of horticultural services.
