Equips medical practitioners with the knowledge and skills to provide high quality and contemporary care for the older person. The course combines a clinical focus with the analysis of the social context, evidence based practice and systems of care.

Course Description:
This course is not available for on-campus study by students on an International student visa.
This course structure contains information about the units which comprise the course as well as the credit points required to successfully complete it.
Students will complete a total of 180 credit points (nine units) as listed below:
Stage 1

Successful completion of Stage 1 results in eligibility to exit with a Graduate Certificate of Geriatric Medicine.
Stage 2

GME5104 Geriatric Medicine 4: Clinical Management 1 20
Plus 20 credit points (one unit) to be chosen from:
MMP5102 Evidence-based Chronic Disease Management 20
or
PRH5107 Preventative Medicine 20
Successful completion of Stage 2 results in eligibility to exit with a Graduate Diploma of Geriatric Medicine.
