Central Gippsland Institute of TAFE, more commonly known as GippsTAFE is one of Victoria's largest regional TAFE Institutes with modern, well equipped facilities. As a multi-disciplined educational provider, the Institute annually provides over 300 courses to some 12,000 students.

The Institute was established in 1928 in the Gippsland region of Victoria, which is Australia's largest power producing centre. Since that time the Institute has developed both a strong focus in training for the energy, mining and Telecommunications industries and a broad range of courses for its regional, national and international customers.

The name GippsTAFE is taken from both the Institute's location in Gippsland, and the region's namesake, Governor Gipps. Sir George Gipps was a Patron of the Sciences and Governor of New South Wales from 1837-1846. He was vitally interested in exploration and saw the boundaries of the Colony extended into Gippsland by explorers Strzelecki, Mitchell and McMillan.

GippsTAFE has campuses throughout the region, in Leongatha, Morwell, Newborough and Warragul as well as a metropolitan campus in Chadstone. The metropolitan campus primarily services the utility sectors of electricity, gas and Telecommunications while an interstate delivery centre operates in Adelaide.

GippsTAFE, together with Monash University, Gippsland Group Training, Kurnai Secondary College and Latrobe City, have partnered in the establishment of the Gippsland Education Precinct (GEP), a unique collaborative partnership, based at Monash University Campus, Churchill.

The Institute prides itself on being a customer focused organisation working to provide for the needs of its customers through quality driven, responsive vocational education and training products and services. Testimony to this success is the increased number of positive complements and the enhanced results in the recent student satisfaction survey.

Coupled with our focus on customer satisfaction the organisation's strategic directions place great emphasis on the building and nurturing of relationships with the enterprises and individuals it deals with. This has culminated in an Institute that is widely recognised throughout the Gippsland region as a significant contributor to the growth and economic prosperity of the community.

The Institute's training expertise has led to project work with large and small companies throughout Australia and South East Asia. We conduct training wherever and whenever it best suits our clients.

Central Gippsland Institute of TAFE is forging ahead and you can be part of its success. Your success is our success, contact one of the Institute's officers now.
