Course Outline
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have senior or managerial responsibilities. They may oversee the work of others or have specialised roles where they do not supervise others but provide strategic leadership.

Duration
Full-time: 6 months
Part-time: 2 years pending class attendance
Entrance Requirements
Applicants must have a management qualification at AQF level V or at least 3 years experience in management or have a degree, diploma, or trade certificate, or equivalent, and, have substantial responsibility for managing the work performance of others and for making and implementing strategic decisions related to their operations.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be required to submit evidence to meet the above entrance requirements.

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to establish the strategic direction of the organisation, and to sustain competitive advantage and enhance competitiveness. It requires analysis and interpretation of relevant markets, capability assessment of the organisation, and its existing and potential competitors and allies. It also covers implementation of the strategic plan.

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to demonstrate senior leadership behaviour, and personal and professional competence.
BSBINN601A - Manage organisational change
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to determine strategic change requirements and opportunities, and to develop, implement and evaluate change management strategies.

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage risks in a range of contexts across the organisation or for a specific business unit or area. The unit has been designed to be consistent with AS/NZS 4360:2004 Risk management.
BSBDIV601A - Develop and implement diversity policy
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to research diversity, draft policy, plan for implementation, and implement diversity policy.
BSBFIM601A - Manage finances
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to undertake budgeting, financial forecasting and reporting requirements, and to allocate and manage resources to achieve the required outputs for the business unit. It includes contributing to financial bids and estimates, allocating funds, managing budgets and reporting on financial activity.
