    Course Outline
    This is a pre-employment (pre-apprenticeship) program. As an important part of the program students will learn to work with metal and computing.

    Duration
    Offered as 2 days per week (25 weeks) or equivalent part time; 400 hours in total

    Industry demand for new apprentices is very high and over one third of all job vacancies in
    manufacturing are for trade qualified people. Completion of an apprenticeship also opens up another world of highly rewarding opportunities in Technician, Sales and Engineering Management careers. Prepares students for employment in the metals industry as an apprentice, trainee or trades assistant in Sheet metal (Fabrication), Welding, Fitting & Machining (Mechanical), Boiler making (Heavy Fabrication) and Toolmaking. Other job outcomes include store persons, operators, machinists and factory hands.
