Certificate II in Printing and Graphic Arts
If you want to qualify as a Desktop Publisher, then study the Certificate II in Printing and Graphic Arts (Desktop Publishing). Successful completion of the course will qualify you to:
-Design and create publications such as newsletters, flyers, poster, brochures, business cards, logos, catalogues, magazines and others
-Be proficient with industry standard DTP software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and InDesign, basic Internet publishing using HTML, Dreamweaver and Flash and QuarkXpress page layout software.
-Be able to work across both PC and Apple Mac computer platforms although the bulk of the program is delivered on PC
-Understand Prepress and the requirements of commercial printing
-Understand printing methods and publications binding and finishing
Full-time: 6 months Part-time: 1-1½ years
This is an entry level course to further education and training.

Graphic Design and Layout, Typography and Layout, Prepress Multimedia, Scanning, Digital Imaging, Digital Output
Graduates will have acquired skills and knowledge that should assist them to find employment within the Desktop Publishing industry or as a private business. These areas cover Desktop Publisher, Computer Operator, Electronic Publishing Operator.
Further Education Opportunities
Successful completion of the Certificate II in Printing and Graphic Arts (Desktop Publishing) will allow students to continue on to the Certificate IV in Printing and Graphic Arts (Multimedia) or the dual award Certificate IV in Information Technology (Multimedia/Websites).
