  • Objectives
    The Gordon's automotive courses will equip you with advanced skills and knowledge to work in the automotive industry in motor mechanic and specialist roles. The Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology apprenticeship course offers a nationally uniform structure for on-the-job training in accordance with automotive industry requirements. Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology graduates may be employed as a motor mechanic industry, be a self-employed motor mechanic or work as a sales representative in trade sales.
  • Entry requirements
    If you would like to study the Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology you must be currently employed as an apprentice or trainee under a training contract. You will need to undertake a Pre-training Review to determine your current skills and literacy and numeracy abilities. This Review will form the basis of your Individual Training Plan.

    Duration
    The Certificate III In Automotive Mechanical Technology is a part-time three-year course. Students will attend eight one week off-the-job blocks of study. Students can expect approximately 40 hours of class attendance time each week plus some workplace assessment. Student intakes are ongoing as referred by employers.

    Recognition of Prior Learning

    Recognition of prior learning (RPL) may be given for skills and knowledge gained through previous study or other relevant experience. For further information refer to the RPL brochure that can be found under Downloads & Forms.
     
    Gordon Institute Support Services

For enrolled students, the Gordon provides general education support, counselling and careers advisors, disability support services and an Indigenous Education Unit. The Gordon also offers an on-campus Student Residence for students living away from home.
