    This course is broad-based training and will provide the skills and knowledge required for employment as a fabrication trades person in the Metals and Engineering Industry. A Fabrication apprentice will be skilled in - Mechanical and Thermal Cutting; Reading Drawings; Marking out / Welding / Assembly; CNC Brake Pressing operations; CNC Profile Cutting; Fabrication of Light & Heavy Components; Computing and Computer Aided Drafting (Dandenong only).

    Course Outline
    Broad-based training is provided in the skills and knowledge required for employment as a fabrication trades person in the Metals and Engineering Industry.

    Course Content
    A Fabrication apprentice will be skilled in - Mechanical and Thermal Cutting; Reading Drawings;
    Marking out / Welding / Assembly; CNC Brake Pressing operations; CNC Profile Cutting; Fabrication
    of Light & Heavy Components; Computing and Computer Aided Drafting (Dandenong only).

    Duration
    Part time course consists of 960 hours of competencies, and is offered as a block release study
    program where students come in for one week, eight times a year or as a day release study program where students attend one day per week.

    Dandenong and Frankston campuses

    Accreditation Status
    Recognised in the Federal Metals Industry Award and relates directly to the C10 classification of
    Engineering Tradesperson Level 1. It is accepted by industry sectors and government.
