    Formerly known as Certificate IV in Business ManagementYou will be exposed to a dynamic set of Management practice and contemporary skills that are required to meet the rigors of today’s workplace environment. For those wishing to secure employment in the area of Management who have completed a secondary education and looking to secure a viable post secondary setting to study Management. Others who may have built up a range of workplace experiences who wish to formalise those practical applications and in doing so gain a broader understanding and in turn recognition of both the skills that have already been and achieved together with new knowledge resulting in both currency and acknowledgement of their certificated achievement.

  • Course description
    Course Outline
    This qualification reflects the role of individuals who take the first line of management in a wide range of organisational and industry contexts. They may have existing qualifications and technical skills in any given vocation or profession, yet require skills or recognition in supervisory functions. Typically they would report to a manager.

    At this level frontline managers provide leadership and guidance to others and take responsibility for the effective functioning and performance of the team and its work outcomes.

    Entrance Requirements
    Applicants have a Certificate III in Frontline Management qualification or equivalent or provide evidence of competency in the majority of the units in the Certificate III in Frontline Management. or
    some Vocational/ Work place experience in a supervisory role.

    Workplace Assessment and Tailored Training Packages
    Chisholm’s Business and Management Department offers a well-developed assessment program. This program ascertains where your managers are in relation to competency levels they need. Once this has been done, a training program is devised for your managers that link their competency development with your business goals. The duration depends on individual organisation needs. For example, over a 12-18 month period there may be a range of workshops, supported by individual one-on-one coaching, followed up by independent assessment.

    BSBWOR402A - Promote team effectiveness
    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to promote teamwork. It involves developing team plans to meet expected outcomes, leading the work team, and proactively working with the management of the organisation.

    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to implement and monitor the organisation's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area to meet legislative requirements

    BSBMGT402A - Implement operational plan
    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to implement the operational plan by monitoring and adjusting operational performance, producing short-term plans for the department/section, planning and acquiring resources and providing reports on performance as required.

    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to report financial activity for business both in response to client requests and to meet statutory requirements such as the completion of statutory requirement reports.

    BSBCUS401A - Coordinate implementation of customer service strategies
    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to advise on, carry out and evaluate customer service strategies, including the design of improvement strategies based on feedback.

    BSBPMG510A - Manage projects
    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage a straightforward project or a section of a larger project. This unit addresses the management of projects including the development of a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project and reviewing the project to identify lessons learnt for application to future projects.

    BSBINM401A - Implement workplace information systems
    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to implement the workplace information system. It involves the identification, acquisition, initial analysis and use of appropriate information, which plays a significant part in the organisation's effectiveness.     This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to be an effective and pro active member of an innovative team. No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement.

    This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to implement the organisation's continuous improvement systems and processes. Particular emphasis is on using systems and strategies to actively encourage the team to participate in the process, monitoring and reviewing performance, and identifying opportunities for further improvements.
