    Course Outline

    Part time – Day/Evening (please contact Hair and Beauty Department for current timetable)
    Evening classes held on: Monday and Wednesday from 6.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m.
    Day classes held on: Saturday 9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. (9.00 a.m. – 4.30 p.m. Term 1 only)

    Duration
    One to two years
    Students will be required to attend class six hours per week minimum for 10 weeks each term.

    Entrance Requirements
    Pre requisities - Four units of Advanced Make-up Artist as a pre-requisite

    CUFMUP02A Design apply and remove make-up
    CUFSAF01B Follow Health Safety and Security procedures
    This unit covers straight and corrective make-up suitable for stage. Morphology, facial structure, camouflage and corrective make-up.

    Day, Evening, Bridal and Photographic Make-up
    CUFMUP02A Design, apply and remove make-up
    WRBFS203B Design and apply make-up for photography
    Students will cover design and application of Bridal make-up. Apply make-up to achieve a variety of fashion looks on a variety of models to achieve a diverse range of make-up finishes.

    Period Make-up and Body Painting
    CUFMUP02A Design, apply and remove make-up
    CUSRAD02A Conduct research
    Incorporate Body Painting with other advanced techniques to achieve specific fantasy or character themes. Identify and apply period make-up.

    Special Effects, Film and Television Make-up
    CUFSFX03A Create special effects for the screen
    CUFSFX04A Repair, maintain and alter special effects
    CUFPOP02A Break down a script
    Students will learn a variety of techniques for creating scars, cuts, burns and bruises. Also wound and ageing effects using latex and minor prosthesis using wax.

    Make-up for Production

    CUFGEN01A Develop and apply industry knowledge.
    Students incorporate all techniques learnt in previous make-up subjects. There is also a work placement component in this subject.

    Dressing Hair for Performance
    CUEMUP6A Dress hair for performance or production
    CUSADM02A Co-ordinate purchase or hire of equipment supplies
    This subject involves designing hairstyles incorporating setting, blow-waving and upstyles to achieve a variety of styles for performance and productions.

    Style Wigs
    CUEMUP5A Dress(Style) Wigs
    Students will learn how to maintain and style wigs for performance and productions, looking at different periods of fashion to co-ordinate with make-up.
