    This Qualification is to provide a broad base training in the skills and knowledge to satisfy some of the mandatory requirements as stated by the Building Commission for registration as a Domestic Builder Unlimited or a Commercial Builder Limited - Medium Rise.

  • Course description
    Course Outline
    This course covers building theory and practice related to residential, industrial and commercial
    buildings. Graduates develop specialist skills in estimating, supervising and managing within the
    building construction industry. This National course has all the subjects from the Certificate IV in
    Building. The Diploma of Building forms the academic requirements by the Building Practitioners
    Board for registration as a Building Practitioner. Articulation may be achieved with exemptions into
    the Construction Management Degree at University. Some subjects are core subjects in the Diploma of Building Design and Drafting and the Diploma of Building Surveying.

    Full time applicants refer to the VTAC guide. Applicants may be required to attend an information
    session and an interview.

    Full time applicants should apply through VTAC and part time directly to the Institute. Application
    can be completed during the day or evening.
