This course equips graduates with practical business management skills as well as high level technical skill, allowing them to work in all areas of the hairdressing industry, and is particularly suited to students wishing to pursue employment as salon managers.

These modules provide students with the knowledge to work effectively in a retail environment, merchandising and selling products and services. Students will learn to apply safe work practices and perform routine cleaning duties.

The purpose of these modules is to develop effective communication skills to enable the student to provide advice on products and services to the client. Students will learn to conduct financial transactions and maintain tools and equipment preparing for and providing services to clients forms an integral element of these modules.

The purpose of these modules is to develop the student’s knowledge of the principles of design in relation to hair styling and apply a variety of finishing techniques to short and long hair.

Students will learn to recognise, advise clients on hair and scalp conditions, providing suitable treatment.

Students will study the design elements of a variety of hair structures and gain the knowledge and skills to create finished designs on men and women incorporating a range of structures.
Hair Colouring

The purpose of these modules is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to perform a range of hair colouring services. Students will apply high lift tints, retouch and full-head bleach services, full and partial highlighting and colour correction.
Chemical Reformation
WRHCR302A Perform chemical curling and volumising services
WRHCR303A Perform chemical straightening and relaxing services
Students will gain the knowledge and skills to chemically reform the structure of the hair (permanent wave). In addition, students will apply technique to relax chemically reformed hair or straighten natural hair.
