The Centre focuses on multi-disciplinary research excellence in the areas related to:
•    primary and secondary prevention of chronic disease
•    environmental, cultural and psycho-social determinants of health and wellbeing
•    application and translation of knowledge to policy, practice and service delivery for improving community health and patient care

The Centre’s work focuses on important health issues that impact on the ACT and Australian population. Its specific aims are to:
•    align clinical and translational health research with service delivery across all care settings and sectors
•    Strengthen the knowledge base of health promotion and wellbeing research within the framework of the social determinants of health
•    Focus on research that will contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of the ACT and Australian population
•    Disseminate the outcomes of research across academic, policy and lay communities
•    Engage with researchers and policy makers to build strategic partnerships and capacity for health promotion and wellbeing research in the ACT and Australia.
