  • Objectives This is a class for migrants and overseas visitors to improve their English. There can be day and night classes in Bendigo, Kyneton, Castlemaine, and Maryborough.
  • Entry requirements The level of English of possible students is assessed prior to enrolment. Any previous formal English tests are considered in this assessment. Other Entry Requirements Contact the Coordinator with visa details to commence the process.

    National Accreditation This Course / Qualification has TAFE National Recognition.

    Duration Options    

    This course is offered part time at night and full-time or part-time during the day.  This course normally runs from February to December. Distance learning or a combination of part time and distance learning are also available. Enrolment can be done any time during the year.

    Employment Opportunities     

    After successful completion of one or more of these courses you may be eligible for employment in a range of factory, cleaning and agriculture jobs. Some culturally specific work may also be possible, depending on individual confidence.

    For this level there are limited areas of study suitable until a higher standard of English is achieved.

    Packaging Rules    

    To complete the Certificate students must demonstrate competency in Modules A and B (core modules) and 3 other electives.

    Recognition of Prior Learning    

    Recognition of your current qualifications and prior learning: BRIT has processes to give you credit for relevant units from your prior study, and to assess your prior learning against units in a course.
