  • Objectives This comprehensive course will provide you with the skills to conduct civil construction backhoe, loader and skid steer (Bobcat) operations.
  • Entry requirements You must be able to interpret signage and safety instructions in the workplace.

    National unit BCCCM1001C - Follow OHS Policies and Procedures is a pre-requisite, however this unit will be delivered and assessed in conjunction with the delivery of this course.

  • Course description The course covers planning and preparation for work, the conduct of operational checks, the safe and effective operation of the backhoe, loader and skid steer for a range of mandatory tasks, the fitting, use and removal of attachments and operator maintenance activities.

    The course is conducted over two 4 day weeks.

    In addition, BRIT is able to offer this program on a fast track basis for people with experience operating at least one of Backhoe, Loader or Skid Steer and and with pre-existing skills in either OHS or Environmental Practice.

    This fast track program provides training to address gaps between participants existing skills and knowledge and the competency outcomes. It is designed to provide specific training in the operation of these items of plant in a one-on-one or small group basis. Entry is subject to providing evidence of existing skills and experience.
