Master of Clinical Nursing

  • Objectives Designed to allow nurse clinicians to enhance their individual specialty knowledge and competence whilst working in their selected area of specialisation. Theoretical and practical knowledge will be augmented by a substantial clinical project to enable the development of advanced critical thinking and project writing skills. Encourages innovative evidence based practice that will ultimately lead to improved nursing practice. Discipline areas include: * Critical Care Nursing - Coronary Care/Cardiothoracic Nursing * Critical Care Nursing - High Dependency * Critical Care Nursing - Intensive Care * Critical Care Nursing - Paediatric Intensive Care * Advanced Nursing * Chronic Disease Management * Emergency Nursing * Gerontological Nursing * Nephrology Nursing * Neuroscience Nursing * Oncology Nursing * Orthopaedic Nursing * Palliative Care Nursing * Perioperative Nursing * Transition Nursing Other disciplines are available: Mental Health, Pain Management, Wound Care, Paediatric Nursing. Students considering these should discuss their options with the course coordinator.
  • Entry requirements All Registered Nurses (RNs) who possess a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent may enrol in the Master of Clinical Nursing program. RNs with a hospital based diploma, working in the specialty will be considered at the discretion of the Course Coordinator. The course requires that students work in an approved specialty area of their choice. Students who have less than 12 months relevant specialty experience will be considered at the discretion of the Course Coordinator.
