Master of Nurse Education

  • Objectives Prepares nurses to undertake advanced level roles in nurse education, training, continuing education, and or staff development in the health care sector. Focusses on developing and enhancing sound teaching and learning knowledge, skills and practices which with allow the graduate to impact on the next generation of nurses. Graduates of this course will be equipped for leadership roles in clinical environments where education and training are conducted. Settings for these positions include clinics, hospital settings, out-patient facilities, businesses, schools, and community centers.
  • Entry requirements Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. Two years of clinical experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Academic title Master of Nurse Education
  • Course description This course is not available for on-campus study by students on an International student visa.

    This course structure contains information about the units which comprise the course as well as the credit points required to successfully complete it.

    The Master of Nurse Education is a 180 credit point qualification with students being able to exit after completion of 60 credit points with a Graduate Certificate. Students may continue to complete 120 credit points and exit with a Graduate Diploma or complete 180 credit points to obtain the Master's Award.

    Stage 1
    There are 3 core units for the Master of Nurse Education which need to be completed in Stage One

    On successful completion of 60 credit points (3 units) students may exit with a Graduate Certificate in Nurse Education.


    Stage 2
    Stage 2 consists of 3 units.

    On successful completion of 120 credit points (6 units) students may exit with a Graduate Diploma in Nurse Education.

    180 credit points (9 units) are required to complete the course.
