    This apprenticeship course provides the training component of an Apprenticeship in Outdoor Equipment. You will learn the knowledge, skills and applications required to develop a trade career working for businesses that service and repair outdoor power equipment.
  • Entry requirements
    Before you begin your training, you must gain full time employment as an outdoor equipment apprentice, under a training agreement established with your employer.

    Key Study Areas     

    You will learn how to repair and service a wide range of outdoor power equipment including:

        * Rotary, drum, reciprocating and chainsaw cutting systems
        * Post hole systems
        * Pump systems
        * Generators
        * Cooling systems

    Where     • Bendigo (Charleston Road Campus)

    Duration Options
    This apprenticeship takes up to 4 years to complete, however it may be possible to achieve time exemptions based on existing competency or accelerated learning achievements.
    You will attend a number of one week study blocks at BRIT during the first three years of your apprenticeship.

    Employment Opportunities    

    This qualification is nationally recognised for employment in the outdoor equipment trade. It can also lead you into careers such as owning your own repair business, management, sales and teaching in the automotive field.

    AUR05: Automotive Industry Retail, Service And Repair Training Package

    36 units of competence are required to complete this qualification within the specific requirements as set out in the three areas below:

    ONE The following units of competence are compulsory:

        *
          AURC270103A Apply safe working practices

          AURT366108A Carry out diagnostic procedures
        *
          AURT271781A Implement and monitor environmental regulations in the automotive                     mechanical industry

    TWO 27 units of competence from the Technical Inventory which must include 4 units of competence from the Outdoor Power Equipment cluster

    THREE 6 units of competence from the Retail, Service and Repair or any endorsed training package that meet the needs of the enterprise
