    This course will give participants the skills and knowledge required to work in a confined space (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work or inspections.
  • Entry requirements
    The unit BCCCM1001C Follow OHS policies and procedures is a prerequisite to Unit BCCCM2009B Work in Confined Spaces. Competency in the prerequisite will be assessed in conjunction with other functional aspects which together form part of the holistic work role. Other Entry Requirements The course and job tasks associated with work in confined spaces typically require literacy and numeracy skills to: * Interpret material safety data sheets; * Interpret atmospheric monitoring equipment; * Read and interpret manufacturer’s instructions; and * Read and interpret entry permit requirements.

    The course includes:

        * entry and exit procedures;
        * assessment of associated risks;
        * how to operate safely in a confined space.

    The course includes theory based sessions, practical access plus rescue training and assessment.

    The program runs over three consecutive days. The first two are classroom based. The third day involves practical training including conducting mock search and rescue scenarios and is conducted at the CFA Training Facility at Huntly.

    Assessment      You will be assessed as part of this course.
