Course descriptionAbout the course
The Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Services) has been designed to provide an excellent education with industrial experience built in. IBM, along with Country Energy and the NSW Department of Lands have invested in this course, providing scholarships to all students of the Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Services).
Students will study and carry out project work with IBM or their partners throughout their degree. The relationship is a strong one and will give the students the equivalent of 12 months work experience by the end of their degree. By mutual agreement, the best students may be offered a position with IBM or their partners on completion of their degree studies.
The degree has a choice of three possible minors:
* Software Development
* Business Analysis
* Spatial Analysis
Where it will take you
This course is designed to equip graduates with the skills and knowledge to work within a professional setting.
It has a core of information technology skills that will also provide professional recognition in the information technology industry generally. Students taking this course will be educated to a level that will provide entry to many industries, with the added advantage of 12 months equivalent work experience with IBM or its partners.
Practical experience
Students complete 64 points of industry project by working with IBM or partner on an industry relevant project. The industry project constitutes part of the student’s second, third and fourth year of the course.

ITC256 Industry Project 2 (16 points) - Autumn third year
ITC392 Industry Project 3 (32 points) - Spring fourth year
Scholarships
CSU's industry partners, IBM, Country Energy and the NSW Department of Lands, provide a scholarship for each student of the Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Services). Students must apply for the scholarship when they submit their Application for Admission form through UAC.
Graduation requirements
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 256 points, comprising 192 points of academic subjects and 64 points of industry projects.
