Bachelor of Management

  • Objectives CSU’s Bachelor of Management is a broad-based course designed to develop professional capabilities in a broad range of management areas.
  • Academic title Bachelor of Management
  • Course description About the course

    Management is a professional practice that is the foundation of organisational success. Indeed, businesses and organisations understand that their survival and growth depends on excellence in management and the critical importance of employing and developing staff with comprehensive management and leadership skills.

    This newly revised course in Management has, at its core, a focus on the development of skills and knowledge in effective people management, ethical practice and the establishment of stakeholder trust. While there is a strong focus on what are often termed the ‘soft skills’ of people management, the course also develops ‘hard skills’ in such areas as finance, accounting, law and economics. There is also opportunity to develop areas of specialisation through electives in management, economics, accounting, finance and marketing to name a few.

    We offer strong student support and the learning processes are applied in real world management situations to offer students a tangible link between theory and practice.
    Where it will take you

    The Bachelor of Management course develops professional capabilities in a broad range of management areas and aims to keep the curriculum focused on the cutting edge of management thinking. The course is tailored to graduates who want to study management issues from a social science and ethical perspective. Potentially, this course will give graduates the opportunity to move into first line or middle management positions in small and medium sized businesses or organisational settings.
    Graduation requirements

    To be eligible for the award of Bachelor of Management, students must successfully complete 24 subjects including:

        * 18 core subjects
        * six elective subjects

    Residential school

    Some subjects offered through distance education require you to attend residential schools. A flexible approach to residential school requirements is adopted and arrangements may be made for those who cannot attend essential residential schools because of distance, work or family circumstances. In these instances, students may undertake alternative activities in their own region or workplace.
