Boxing Program

  • Course description The AIS Boxing program began in 1997 as an Olympic Athlete Program initiative. The program offers scholarship places for the Australian national senior boxing squad and, since 2007, Indigenous National Talent Identification and Development athletes.

Both programs work with Boxing Australia to prepare athletes to represent Australia in international competitions, with a particular focus on performance in Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

Boxing facilities at the AIS include two Olympic-standard boxing rings and punching bags, plus specific strength and conditioning facilities to supplement those provided in the AIS gym. Boxers at the AIS also have the benefits of a range of sports science services and equipment, including a boxing-specific punch integrator.
