  • Objectives This course is for people interested in gaining an owner classers certificate or pursuing a career as a professional wool classer and/or for experienced people already working in the industry who wish to further their knowledge and skills in wool classing.
  • Entry requirements Certificate II in Wool Handling. Basic literacy and numeracy. Other Entry Requirements Minimum Year 11 or equivalent. Participants must be physically fit and prepared to work in an outdoor environment.

        * Classing wool
        * Pressing wool
        * Preparing facilities for shearing and crutching
        * Wool characteristics
        * Quality assurance

    The total duration of the training program will be defined by the negotiated training plan, however you are encouraged to complete this qualification within 24 months.

    On successfully completing this course you will be eligible for employment in a range of roles in the sheep and wool industry.  You will also be eligible to register as an Owner Classer with AWEX.
