  • Objectives
    This program is aimed at preparing graduates of any discipline for entry to fourth year psychology courses and acts as an accredited bridging program.
  • Practical experience
    Work Experience There are currently no provisions in this program for Work Experience and Internships.
  • Entry requirements
    Completion of an undergraduate degree in any discipline, or equivalent from an approved institution. Students who have not completed an introductory psychology subject (eg Introduction to Psychology: Biology and Personality, or Introduction to Psychology: Learning and Social) together with an introductory statistics subject (eg Statistics & Data Analysis I), will need to complete these two pre-requisites in addition to the degree requirements (see below). For these students, the program will take a minimum of three semesters to complete, and admission will be January semester only. Students who have completed the pre-requisite subjects will be able to complete the program in two semesters, if commencing in May semester only.

    This program is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as an approved bridging program for entry into a 4th year of study in Psychology.

    Attendance

    International Students: Students must undertake four subjects per semester (equivalent to 40 credit points) to fulfil student visa requirements.

    Domestic Students: Most Students undertake four subjects per semester (equivalent to 40 credit points). You may, however, enrol in fewer subjects (equivalent to 30 credit points) and extend your degree over a longer period.

    Bond's Teaching methodology involves a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, examinations, projects, presentations, assignments, computer labs and industry projects.

    * Students wishing to commence study part-time may enrol in January, May or September semesters.

    + After commencing part-time, it may be possible to convert to full-time enrolment status at the next scheduled full-time intake.  Please contact the Program Advisor for details.

    Program Structure
    Foundation subjects
    Students who have NOT completed introductory courses in psychology

    Students who have not completed an introductory psychology subject (e.g., PSYC11-100 Introduction to Psychology: Biology and Personality or PSYC11-101Introduction to Psychology: Learning & Social and an introductory statistics subject (e.g., [PSYC11-105] Statistics and Data Analysis 1) will need to complete these two prerequisites in addition to the degree requirements (see below). For these students the program will take a minimum of three semesters to complete, and the intake will be in the January semester only.
    Students who have completed introductory courses in psychology

    Students who have completed an introductory psychology subject (e.g., either PSYC11-100 Introduction to Psychology: Biology and Personality or PSYC11-101 Introduction to Psychology: Learning & Social and an introductory statistics subject (e.g., PSYC11-105 Statistics and Data Analysis 1) will be able to complete the program in two semesters provided that they enrol in the May semester.
    Core

    Foundation

    5 subjects chosen from the following list:

        * PSYC12-315 Developmental Psychology
        * PSYC12-325 Social Psychology
        * PSYC13-301 Cognitive Psychology
        * PSYC13-302 Personality and Individual Differences
        * PSYC13-312 Psychopathology
        * PSYC13-316 Motivation and Emotion

    NB: PSYC12-210 Sensation and Perception or PSYC12-214 Biological Psychology must be taken but not both.
